LOADED WITH GREAT SPECIAL EFFECTS, THE GREEN HORNET SHINES. By Crystal Booker
KANSAS CITY, Mo – Seth Rogan co-wrote and stars as the Britt Reid/Green Hornet in this film directed by Michael Gondry. Jay Chou plays his genius side kick Kato. These two are kicking much butt and taking names! The film is in 3D, but it does absolutely nothing for the film. You could truly take it or leave it, mostly leave it. The special effects are awesome!
The final scene when Kato is driving away in the Green Hornet mobile is visually stimulating because the car changes colors to camouflageitself! The other special effects such as the weapons on the car are packed with fire power. From the rocket launchers to the tire shredder on the hubcaps this car has it all! It even has ejector seats, a coffee maker and a record player that plays classical music.
Kato is the genius that put it all together! Jay Chou does an excellent job bringing Kato to life on the big screen. Seth Rogan portrays Britt Reid as the biggest jerk on the planet. He’s insensitive and an all around unlikeable character. One thing this film does have going for it is it’s humor. There are some funny moments like when Britt and Kato cut off the head of his Britt’s father’s statue.
That was hilarious because they almost get killed. The scene where they drive into the newspaper building is funny too and full of action!
This movie is entertaining and full of action with martial arts fighting. The 3D does nothing for it and definitely was a waste of time.
The overall film was ok, so it is for this reason I am giving it 3 out of 5 popcorn bags.
